Sam Niemann

Sam Niemann is a lifelong gardener whose passion for plants and nature has been the driving force behind his extensive knowledge and expertise in horticulture. From childhood, he immersed himself in exploring gardens and reading horticultural textbooks, developing a deep obsession with gardening.

As a teenager, Sam's dedication led him to a job at a local garden center, where he was able to hone his craft, prove his skills, and gain a ton of valuable hands-on experience in the gardening world. His time at the garden center laid a solid foundation for his future endeavors merging his passions for entrepreneurship and horticulture.

He furthered his education at San Diego State University, earning a degree in Finance while simultaneously founding Grown by Design, a boutique landscape design firm specializing in high-end residential projects. This venture allowed him to merge his creative vision with practical skills, designing lush and beautiful spaces that reflected his deep understanding of plants and their care.

Currently, Sam is developing Bleume, a high-quality home and gardening brand aimed at inspiring people to connect with nature. Through Bleume, he aims to foster a deeper connection between people and the natural world, making exceptional design accessible to everyone. Bleume is launching in 2024 with a liquid houseplant fertilizer, designed to take the guesswork out of fertilizing and growing houseplants.

With his extensive hands-on experience, Sam has managed complex landscape design projects and dedicated his life to learning as much as possible about horticulture. His lifelong passion for gardening, combined with his professional background, makes him well-versed in all aspects of plant care. As an entrepreneur, Sam comes from a long line of business-minded individuals, and his vision for Bleume merges his love for plants with his entrepreneurial spirit.
